Code of Ethics

I-1.3—To recognize and respect the unique qualities,
abilities, and potential of each child.

Each child you encounter as a teacher is unique and has their own style of learning, their abilities differ as well as their personalities.  It is our responsibility as educators to provide our students with lessons that tailor to each unique learning style and support all students with high-expectations.

I-1.7—To use assessment information to understand
and support children’s development and learning,
support instruction, and to identify children who may
need additional services.

I believe that it is vital to a student's success to assess students regularly and provide students with specific support in order to incorporate their needs.

P-1.2—We shall care for and educate children in
positive emotional and social environments that are
cognitively stimulating and that support each child’s
culture, language, ethnicity, and family structure.

Children do not always come from emotionally stable environments.  As a teacher, I want to provide ALL children with a positive, caring, and safe environment, a place where children can come to learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

  1. It is sad how many children do not have a stable loving home. This is a big problem at the school where I teach. I completely agree with you that we need to provide all students with a nurturing environment where they feel safe, loved, and excited to learn. It should be our biggest priority!
