According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, increased immunization coverage around the world is a key reason why the number of children dying each year has fallen below 10 million for the first time in documented history.
As a mother of two, I believe immunizations are vital to the health of children. Immunizations protect children from many childhood diseases that can often be fatal. If you have the chance to protect your child from illness, I don’t understand how anyone can refuse immunizations for their children. The positive effects of immunizations outweigh any negatives, including the misconception that immunizations may be causing autism.
Immunizations are offered throughout the world; however, the availability of immunizations in some countries is extremely limited as shown in the following video.
I will continue to advocate for immunizations for children in the United States and throughout the world. I will also continue to keep up on current issues surrounding immunizations.
